Engine 11-3

Engine 11-3 is a 2012 Pierce Contender Type 3 Wildland pumper that is powered by a Maxx-Force 330 HP diesel engine. It has a 500 GPM Hale PTO pump with a 500 gallon poly water tank and 30 gallons of firefighting foam. Engine 11-3 serves as our wildland apparatus and is crossstaffed at Station 11-1 during fire season. It is often deployed on mutual aid assignments throughout California as a part of Type 3 strike teams. Type 3 engines are designed to fight fires in areas unreachable with Type 1 pumpers. Engine 11-3 is equipped with four-wheel drive, a rugged suspension, and a high wheel clearance for steep, offroad conditions.
