My background involves the following community participation: Chairperson for the French Camp 4-H Club 2002-2004, Representative for French Camp School Site Council 1996-2004, French Camp School Honor Roll Banquet Parent Committee 1996-2004, French Camp Fire Department Christmas dinner 2000-2004, Butterfly Auxiliary-Hospice of San Joaquin 2016-Present.

I have lived in French Camp since 1999. I was born and raised in the town of Lathrop at the time. My father was a farmer on Dos Rios Road from 1950 to 1973. I went to Lathrop School from Kindergarten to Junior High. I attended East Union my Freshman year and my family moved to Stockton, California where I attended Amos Alonzo Stagg, graduated in June 1976. I enrolled at San Joaquin Delta College, graduated with an A.A degree in Business and transferred to Stanislaus State University graduated and obtained B.A. in Business and minor in Criminal Justice. I am a State Certificated Interpreter-Spanish fluent. In October 2007, I graduated from Crisis Response Team-Negotiator Academy in San Luis Obispo, CA.

In October 1978 I was hired at Deuel Vocational Institution-Tracy, California in the Accounting-Inmate Trust Accounts department as the lead Accountant. I promoted as the Prison Canteen Manager I in August 1989, then promoted in March 2004 to Prison Canteen Manager II. As the Prison Canteen Manager II, I was responsible for a yearly $950,000 annual budget. In addition, I was a certificated Crisis Response Team-Negotiator with the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation-Office of Correctional Safety, Emergency Operations Unit. I retired from Deuel Vocational Institution in December 2013 after working 35 years at Deuel Vocational Institution. I am currently working part-time for the San Joaquin County Office of Education as a Staff Secretary in the Human Resources department and Spanish Interpreter for various departments.

I have two grown children that graduated from East Union High School in Manteca. My Son graduated from UOP and is a Navy veteran that was stationed on the USS Nimitz as a Nuclear Engineer. He currently is working for Facebook/META in Prineville, Oregon as a Critical Facilities Engineer Manager in the Data Center. My daughter graduated from University of Hawaii and is currently a Program Manager in the STEM department for San Joaquin County Office of Education. I have two grandchildren, ages 8 and 4 years old.
